newbie question
« on: November 28, 2017, 09:13:21 PM »
I'm still not sure of the difference when using plane cut or slicing a model. I've been using plane cut to cut my models into smaller sections and export them into single .stl prints
Am I going about this all wrong? should I be slicing instead? and how would I do the same thing by slicing the model. Sorry if this is a stupid question that everyone knows except me.

With MM 3.1 the Slicer tool to cut an object into several horizontal slices of same thickness was removed.
Doing several parallel PlaneCuts might be little more user action but is more flexible.
PlaneCut is the up to date way in MM.
I'm just a user as you are. Being no Autodesk employee: I do not know where this road will lead to, nor do I claim to've all stuff got right.
