Align the support's orientation
« on: September 19, 2017, 04:15:23 AM »
Hello.
Im a new bie in Meshmixer. I have mny experiencies at FDM techonology. Now I have a DLP machine, and Meshmixer is the best choice for generating support structures (thank you Autodesk  <3)
I wonder, is there any way to set the align of support parelle together? I hope you undertand what I mean :/

There was an implemented 3D printing preset "DMLS Tool Steel Preset" in the Overhangs Tool of MM's beta 3.1.88 (http://meshmixerforum.com/index.php?topic=2928.0) which did more perpendicular supports aligned in rows. Unfortunately this beta isn't available any more and this preset was dropped in later versions.

I understand your need to get supports robust against the traction of a DLP printer. Are you aware that you can add supports to the auto-generated supports manually as soon as you generated supports? - Even supports for supports.... This way you can make the structure much more stable.
I'm just a user as you are. Being no Autodesk employee: I do not know where this road will lead to, nor do I claim to've all stuff got right.
