Polygroups
« on: May 27, 2011, 03:12:33 AM »
Hi,

think it would be nice to have a feature to convert a selection to a polygroup and a SelectPolygroups . Its realy hard to reconstruct a selection once you´ve canceled it. Seems polygroups would be a solution...
I'm just a user as you are. Being no Autodesk employee: I do not know where this road will lead to, nor do I claim to've all stuff got right.

Yea, it does seem nice. Tricky to implement w/ dynamic mesh though. The problem is that to maintain quality I need to be able to flip and/or collapse any edge, but this would change the polygroup boundary loop in arbitrary ways.

I have been thinking about ways to explicitly constrain some edges, which would make this possible. But it is not "easy" =)
