Announcements / Meshmixer 3.3
« on: October 31, 2017, 05:52:44 PM »
Meshmixer 3.3 is now available! Download it here: https://meshmixer.com/download.html

In this release we:
- Redesigned the entire Print workflow. See https://www.mmmanual.com/printing for details. We have eliminated 3rd party printing services that were not working properly and causing crashes. You can now easily add custom printers and use your printer software to do the actual print, or you can export your model as STL and send it to the 3rd party printing services.
- Implemented Customer Error Report (CER) functionality. A report can now be sent to Autodesk when Meshmixer crashes, which will allow us to debug your issues in a more meaningful way. Please add your comments about how the crash happened.
- Added a hotkey for toggling printer bed rendering

Bug fixes:
- applying Offset to a mesh with boundary
- silent install for Windows
- using '<' and '>' keys for Mac to contract/expand selection
- mesh normal rendering mode has correct default now

Please give it a try, don’t forget to backup, and, as usual, report your bugs using this form: http://download.autodesk.com/us/support/report_a_bug.html?SelProduct=Meshmixer
Remember to select correct Version (3.3) against which you’re reporting a bug.

Have fun! And Happy Halloween! Muahaha :)

Meshmixer 3.1 is now available! Download it here: http://meshmixer.com/download.html

In this release we stabilized many core features, and eliminated crashes related to 123D. We're also very proud that Meshmixer 3.1 is fully translated into Japanese! In addition, Meshmixer installs faster, and now supports high-resolution displays.

- improvement to Help menu

- improved Thickness analysis, various new parameters and can bake thickness colormap to vertex colors
- Orientation tool now can use print bed as volume constraint (and revamped property panel)

Beta / beta 3.1.322
« on: February 16, 2017, 04:48:12 PM »
Hi, Everyone!

Please check out our new Beta 3.1.322 posted on February 16: http://meshmixer.com/beta.html. (Happy belated Valentine's from the Meshmixer team!)

We've made some core changes to the OpenGL code and a few other important things. Please test it on your machines ASAP before we incorporate this Beta in the next full release! If you experience a crash or a black screen, or if something is not rendering properly, please 1) update your graphics card drivers, 2) try again and send us your bug report if it's still happening.

When submitting a bug, please include:
- Steps to reproduce it
- Your OS version and Meshmixer version
- Screenshots
- Your file (if it’s applicable)

If this Beta passes your validation, it'll be a great candidate for the next full release!

Happy Testing!

Beta / beta 3.1.283
« on: January 23, 2017, 05:11:08 PM »
Hello, Meshmixer Community!

This is our first Beta release since Ryan has left Autodesk. We’ve spent some time revitalizing and stabilizing Meshmixer. Kudos to Tyson, Simon, Hali and everyone involved! First of all, defunct 123D functionality is gone, which should improve the performance and eliminate some crashes. Second, the Japanese version of Meshmixer should be now complete. And, of course, there were many crazy bug fixes: http://meshmixer.com/beta.html
Please give it a try!

We are thinking of releasing another Beta before the next major release of Meshmixer 3.1 because we would like to do more testing iterations with you. In the past few months you’ve reported a good number of bugs, and we’ve tried to fix as many as we can. The more you help us test now, the more bug fixes we can include in the major release. Please remember that Betas are unstable builds that can contain new bugs.

Give this Meshmixer Beta 3.1.283 a thorough spin, especially in the next week or two, and send us your feedback!

When submitting a bug, please include:
  • Steps to reproduce it
  • Your OS version and Meshmixer version
  • Screenshots
  • Your file (if it’s applicable)

Happy Testing!

Announcements / Meshmixer Update
« on: January 09, 2017, 08:50:04 PM »
Hi, Meshmixer Community! Happy New Year!

Let me start by announcing that Meshmixer is alive and well, and not going anywhere anytime soon. As it was recently announced on meshmixer.com, we are currently working on a new release that will address decoupling from 123D and feature several bug fixes. Stay tuned for the future announcements! We really care about Meshmixer and, with your feedback, we hope to make it even better!

The team behind Meshmixer also went through a major transformation. There are both old and new faces. All of us closely worked with RMS. We miss him a lot.

A few housekeeping items:

- Currently, all of our team's resources are allocated to make the new release happen as soon as possible. This means you might see some delays in us responding to your emails and posts. Please be patient.

- You can submit your bug reports here: meshmixerbug@autodesk.com

- If you need help or advice please post your questions to this forum. Also, please help each other!
It would enable us to get you what you want sooner.

Cheers,
Ruslana
